Use a nut driver to remove the screws from the condenser cover

Lift the bottom edge of the condenser cover away from the refrigerator.

Pull down on the condenser cover to free it from the retaining tabs at the top edge and remove it.

Step 4: Remove the thermal protector and start relay

Cut any cable ties securing the thermal protector and start relay to the compressor.

This device may alternatively be secured by a metal bail or spring clamp. If so, unhook it from one of the holes where it is secured and remove it.

Step 5: Disconnect the ground wire

Use long nose pliers to pull and disconnect the ground wire from the compressor.

Step 6: Remove the assembly

Pull the thermal protector and start relay assembly straight off the compressor to disconnect it.

Note the positions of the wires connected to the assembly.

Pull straight back on the spade connectors with long nose pliers to disconnect the wires.
