Logic Board Repair is one of the most common repairs for OnePlus 12. This repair involves replacing the damaged logic component with a new or refurbished part. The process typically takes 3-6 hours and requires difficult skill level.
What You'll Need
- Replacement logic part (OEM or aftermarket)
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips #000 or pentalobe)
- Opening tools (plastic spudger, suction cup)
- Adhesive strips or glue
- Clean workspace with good lighting
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Turn on the heat gun to a low heat and and gently heat the curved edges on the back of the phone.
Be careful not to overheat or melt the plastic; heat guns can get out of hand quickly!
Wedge the opening picks between the front and back panel and slide them around the perimeter to break the adhesive securing the back cover.
Repeat until the back panel is fully released.
Step 2:
Gently lift up the back panel, with care not to damage the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable.
Step 3:
Use a pair of [product|IF145-020|tweezers] to gently pull up on the red tab and disconnect the cable from the device.
Completely remove the back panel from the device.
Step 4:
Grip the green tab connected to the battery and pull the battery directly up and out.
Step 5:
The midframe is made of plastic and located above the battery space.
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the ten 3 mm screws from the midframe.
ATTENTION - Be aware that the 10th screw is actually underneath the round white sticker marked with the green circle at the bottom left. ***Do not remove the screw next to it*** marked with the orange circle or you will damage your midframe board.
Lift the bottom of the mid frame directly up and remove it from the device.
Step 6:
Remove the ten screws holding the motherboard using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Step 7:
Disconnect the small metal tabs near the battery compartment that are holding the motherboard down.
Using a fingernail, carefully work under the edge and pry the motherboard up from the phone.
The cameras should lift up with the motherboard.
