Lift the lower front of the ice bucket slightly and pull it toward you to remove it.

Step 2: Remove the used cartridge

Push in on the end of the water filter cartridge to release it.

Pull the cartridge straight out and discard it.

Unwrap the new cartridge. Install it by pushing it into the receptacle toward the rear of the refrigerator until you hear it click into place. The ridge on the side of the cartridge should fit in the notch on the rim of the receptacle.

Step 3: Flush the filter and system

Dispense a glass of water and check the filter receptacle area for leaks.

Flush the system for about 4-5 minutes. Run the water from the dispenser into a container.

A used gallon jug and a funnel may be useful for collecting the flushed water, which should be about 2 gallons.

Turn the ice maker back on. You may wish to discard the first batch of ice.
