Step-by-Step Process

Remove the top two screws and save them in any safe storage place.

Unscrew the rest of the captive screws. These screws are attached to the back plate so do not attempt to remove them.

Attach the suction cup to the back plate. Make sure it is attached tight.

Lift the suction cup to pull the back plate away from the main body of the laptop.

You can also lift the back plate without a suction cup, but be careful not to injure your fingers and nails when prying open the back plate.

There are three slots for solid-state drives in the laptop:

Two slots in the red rectangles are for ***m.2 2280*** NVMe SSD. The left one in the picture contains a original factory setup SSD, and this guide will be focus on adding a new SSD to the right slot. There is ++one screw++ at the right edge of the slot, use the same screwdriver to remove it and save it.

The slot in the orange rectangle is for ***m.2 2230*** NVMe SSD.

Insert the SSD by carefully pushing it into the interface at an small angle, until the gold fingers are fully inside the interface and the SSD is no longer pushable.

Make sure the Gold fingers of the SSD (in the red rectangles) are in the ***same ***direction as shown in the picture.

The SSD should be perfectly placed in the slot, and the screw removed in step 5 should be put back and tightened to lock the SSD in place

Put the back plate back to the laptop with an angle by inserting the top part of the plate to the grooves first, make sure all the screw holes are aligned.

After the back plate is aligned, push hard on the edge to make it tighten.

Retighten all back plate screws, include the two removed screws in step 2.
