Step-by-Step Process

Turn over the laptop to view the underside.

Use [product|IF145-020|tweezers] (or a similar tool) to slide the orange push pin. To release the battery, push it to the left.

You can lift the battery up and out now.

Remove the two 6.0 mm screws that secure the keyboard using a Phillips head screwdriver.

They can be easily identified by looking for the screws with the keyboard icon next to them.

Turn the laptop over and open it.

Use flat edged tools to gently separate the keyboard from the laptop. It should snap off with a small amount of force.

Be sure to push the small tabs along the top of the keyboard, while lifting to successfully free the keyboard.

Gently lift away the keyboard, making sure not to damage the data cable or the connector.

The connection is located beneath the bottom center of the keyboard.

Remove piece of tape that covers the connection between the data cable and the connector.

Detach the data cable by flipping up the small black latch on the connector.

Once the latch is lifted, the keyboard should be completely free.
