Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Remove Key
Release latch on back of key and pull from key ring to remove the backup metal key from the rest of the fob.
Step 2: Split key fob
Using a knife or small flat blade screwdriver pry open the two halves of the key.
To avoid cosmetic damage start from the inside where the metal key was removed in the previous step.
Step 3: Remove battery cover
Remove black circular cover, underneath is an O-ring and the battery.
Step 4: Replace Battery
Battery can easily be removed and replaced. Using CR2025 3V battery, ensure writing is visible with battery installed.
To reassemble reverse steps, install battery cover, snap the two halves together and push metal key back into its receptacle (no tools required for reassembly).
