🔧 Repair Overview
Headlight Bulb Replacement is one of the most common repairs for 2025 Tesla Model S. This repair involves replacing the damaged lighting component with a new or refurbished part. The process typically takes 15-30 min and requires easy skill level.
What You'll Need
- Replacement lighting part (OEM or aftermarket)
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips #000 or pentalobe)
- Opening tools (plastic spudger, suction cup)
- Adhesive strips or glue
- Clean workspace with good lighting
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Open the Frunk
Start by opening the frunk using either the touchscreen controls or key fob.
Open the trunk by pressing '''Controls'''.
Press the Front Trunk (or frunk) button.
Step 2: Remove the Access Cover
Remove the access cover just in front of the windscreen, it has a hole in it for WS washer fluid reservoir. Four hidden plastic barbs can be unclipped by pulling forward and upwards from WS. Then the cover can then be removed.
Step 3: Locate the Right Fusebox
In this case, we are looking for the right most black box. (Right when viewed from the drivers seat, but left when looking at the fuse boxes from the front of the car.)
Pop out one the tabs and lift off the cover.
Step 4: Find the Broken Fuse
See the fuse diagram in the included photo for the exact placement. Starting from the bottom right hand corner, it is the second fuse to the left.
Fuse Number F35
Step 5: Swapping the fuse
Make sure to replace the original fuse with a high quality 15A fuse from your local auto supply store or online vendor.
Step 6: Putting it all back
Replace the black fuse box cover by snapping it into place.
Then slide in the access panel and tap the corners to lock the tabs back in place.
Step 7: All done
At this point close the frunk and go back inside the car to check and make sure everything is working like normal.
Pat yourself on the back (optional but highly recommended)
