🔩 Replacement Parts
What You'll Need
- Replacement engine part (OEM or aftermarket)
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips #000 or pentalobe)
- Opening tools (plastic spudger, suction cup)
- Adhesive strips or glue
- Clean workspace with good lighting
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Lift the bar under the car seat and push back the seat to make the fuse box easier to access.
Step 2:
Assure that the vehicle is completely off, you can tell that this is the case if the small light above the words on the button is off, and the engine should be silent.
Step 3:
Grip the handle on the bottom side of the fuse box cover and pull it up and away to remove the cover.
Step 4:
Locate the desired fuse using the owners manual, on page 7:63.
The diagram to locate fuses is also on the backside of the fuse box cover.
Step 5:
Use the fuse puller or pliers to remove the fuse by gripping the long sides of the fuse and gently pulling the fuse directly out towards you.
The vehicle provides you with a fuse puller in the cover for the engine compartment fuse box.
Step 6:
Align the holes located on the top of the fuse with the prongs on the fuse tester.
Press the prongs into the holes gently, making sure the prongs make contact with the metal at the bottom of the holes.
If the light glows green, the fuse is in working condition, if not, move forward with this guide.
If the light does glow, the fuse is likely not the cause of the issue you are having, you may be better off trying a different solution.
Step 7:
Retrieve a new fuse of the same rating, it should have the same series of letters and numbers on it as the one you are replacing (e.g. 20A, 10A, etc.).
The vehicle often comes with spare fuses in the cover of the engine compartment fuse panel, as pictured.
Step 8:
Align the new fuse straight into the open slot gripping the fuse with the fuse puller in a similar manner to step 5.
Gently push the fuse into the slot left by the fuse that was removed, there should be relatively minimal resistance when pushing it in.
Use your finger to apply moderate pressure until the top of the fuse aligns with the other fuses.
Step 9:
Orient the fuse box cover to its previous position, with the handle facing downward, and insert the top end of the cover into position.
Press the cover in and back into place, it should be flush with its surroundings.
