Step-by-Step Process

Open the trunk.

Remove the black plastic cover located on the inner side taillight by using a #2 flat head screwdriver.

Make sure to pry it off gently to avoid cracking the plastic cover.

Remove the two 12 mm Phillips # 2 screws holding the taillight in place.

Slide out the headlights placing one hand on the outer side and the other hand gripped onto the back of the taillight, pulling straight out.

For easier removal, press down with force on the outer side of the headlight.

Turn the grey brake light socket with the multi-colored wires connected to it counterclockwise.

Pull out the light bulb from the grey bulb socket by pushing downwards while turning counterclockwise.

Take the new replacement bulb and insert it into the light socket while pushing down onto the bulb, turning clockwise and securing the bulb in place.

Slide the light socket back into the circular compartment, making sure the bulb is facing inwards.

After inserted, turn it clockwise to lock the bulb back into place.

Slide the taillight back into the starting position.

Align the taillight with a circular piece on the outer side of the car.

Use moderate force while sliding the taillight, making sure screw holes are visible.

Make sure the grey circular piece on the side is aligned with the taillight to avoid damaging the taillight.

Take the two 12 mm Phillip #2 screws and place them back into the two visible holes.

Replace the plastic cover by pushing down on all of the corners.

Once the plastic piece is fixed onto the car, you can then close the trunk.

The plastic piece is secure when all the sides are lined up with the car and taillight.

Avoid applying a significant amount of force to prevent cracks in the plastic.
