Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Pop the hood and remove the plastic battery cover.
Step 2:
Using a 1/4 inch flex head ratchet and a 1/4 inch shallow 10mm socket, loosen the battery cable tightening nut.
Step 3:
Remove the vacuum line from the front of the intake by gently pulling up on the line releasing it from the clamps.
Step 4:
Disconnect the MAP sensor.
Step 5:
Using a 1/4 inch 7mm deep socket and 1/4 inch flex head wrench, loosen the worm clamp on the cold air intercooler pipe.
Step 6:
Using a 1/4 inch 10mm wobbly socket, 1/4 inch 8 inch extension, and 1/4 inch ratchet, remove all 5 of the cap screws holding the intake to the cylinder head.
Step 7:
Remove the intake out of the engine bay by lifting and pulling the intake towards you.
Step 8:
Unplug both left and right engine ground strap connections.
Step 9:
Using a 1/4 inch 8mm deep socket, remove the 8 PCV plate mounting bolts.
Step 10:
Remove the PCV plate and the old PCV plate gasket.
Step 11:
Wipe down the mounting surface and the inside of the PCV plate with a shop rag.
Step 12:
Install the new PCV plate gasket.
Step 13:
Reinstall the PCV plate on the side of the engine block.
Torque the PCV plate mounting bolts to 89 inch pounds.
