Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Pull up the lever underneath the steering wheel to pop up the hood.
Unlatch the hood.
The battery should be located on the lower right side of engine.
Step 2:
Use a wrench with a 10 mm socket to remove the bolts of the bracket.
Repeat the step above for the second bolt.
Step 3:
Remove the metal rod on top of the battery.
The second and third pictures were taken without the battery for a better view of the rod.
Step 4:
Remove the bolts on the clamps with a 10 mm socket.
Repeat the process on the second terminal of the battery.
Step 5:
Carefully remove the clamps from the terminal.
Sometimes clamps are stuck in place due to corrosion or battery leak. Use caution while removing it.
Step 6:
Carefully remove the battery from the engine.
Do not tilt the battery while removing it.
Step 7:
Insert the new battery in the engine.
Place the metal rod back in place.
Step 8:
Place the bracket back on top of the battery.
Use a wrench with a 10 mm socket to secure the bolts of the bracket.
Repeat the above step for the second bolt.
Step 9:
Put the terminal back on.
Put the bolts on the clamps back on with a 10 mm socket.
Repeat the previous step for the second bolt.
