Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Turn your vehicle off before beginning.
Open your trunk.
Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the shield.
Step 2:
To remove the brake light housing, start from the top of the frame and pull the shield outwards.
Step 3:
Twist the brake light socket counterclockwise and pull it directly out, with care not to damage the wires.
The brake light has a gray plug.
Step 4:
Grip light bulb and slide it directly out of its socket.
Step 5:
Install a new bulb by pressing it into the socket.
You'll hear a "click" when it's properly inserted.
Step 6:
Place the socket back in its housing and twist it clockwise.
Step 7:
Align the brake light shield with the two sockets and firmly press the brake light inward.
You'll hear a "pop" when the shield is secured.
