🔧 Repair Overview
Windshield Wiper Replacement is one of the most common repairs for 2016 Honda Accord. This repair involves replacing the damaged maintenance component with a new or refurbished part. The process typically takes 10-15 min and requires easy skill level.
What You'll Need
- Replacement maintenance part (OEM or aftermarket)
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips #000 or pentalobe)
- Opening tools (plastic spudger, suction cup)
- Adhesive strips or glue
- Clean workspace with good lighting
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Find the hood release lever on the bottom of the door next to the pedals or foot brake.
Pull the hood release lever.
You will hear a click when the hood opens.
Step 2:
Place your finger under the hood and find the little clip to open it.
Be careful when lifting because some hoods can be heavy.
Step 3:
Pull the securing bar and position it in place.
There will be a hole in the hood above where you can slot the bar into.
Step 4:
Find the low beams headlights.
Step 5:
Find the headlight spot.
Carefully remove the socket, keeping in mind that it is secured with a clip and can break easily if handled too forcefully.
Step 6:
To remove the clip, either pull it downward or, depending on the direction of the cable, apply backward pressure.
Turn the bulb counterclockwise and pull it off.
Step 7:
Double check the bulb number and name.
Put the new bulb in.
Check the signal and the dashboard, then turn on the car and lights.
Step 8:
After checking, turn on the lights and verify the low beams outside.
