🔧 Repair Overview
Brake Pad Replacement is one of the most common repairs for 2015 Nissan Murano. This repair involves replacing the damaged brakes component with a new or refurbished part. The process typically takes 1-2 hours and requires moderate skill level.
What You'll Need
- Replacement brakes part (OEM or aftermarket)
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips #000 or pentalobe)
- Opening tools (plastic spudger, suction cup)
- Adhesive strips or glue
- Clean workspace with good lighting
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Pull the button on the back of the key fob from right to left while pulling the hoop on the top.
Completely remove the key from the fob.
Step 2:
Point the fob vertically towards you and find the groove between the front and the back.
Carefully, using an iFixit opening tool or similar household object, pry open the fob by sliding the flat end into the groove.
Slide your opening tool around the entire fob following the groove.
Pull apart the two main pieces.
Step 3:
Carefully remove the individual pieces from the inside one at a time.
There are two pieces in total to remove.
Step 4:
Place the new battery into the key in the same orientation as the one that was removed.
You will notice on the battery that there are small letters. When placing the battery in the fob those letters need to face up.
Step 5:
Set the pieces back within the fob.
Gently line up the pieces and press them together to close it.
Step 6:
Add the physical key back into the fob.
Slide the key back into position and push down until you feel a small click. When you hear the small click you know the key is properly in.
