🔧 Repair Overview
Headlight Bulb Replacement is one of the most common repairs for 2014 Honda CR-V. This repair involves replacing the damaged lighting component with a new or refurbished part. The process typically takes 15-30 min and requires easy skill level.
What You'll Need
- Replacement lighting part (OEM or aftermarket)
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips #000 or pentalobe)
- Opening tools (plastic spudger, suction cup)
- Adhesive strips or glue
- Clean workspace with good lighting
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Go to your local auto shop and ask them to look up which headlights you will need for your specific car. They will give you the correct bulb and handling instructions.
Step 2:
Put on your gloves and open the hood of the car.
Locate the black plug directly behind your headlight.
Step 3:
After the plug is moved aside, locate the black cover that protects the bulb from any debris. My headlights are over 8 years old so I needed pliers to remove the cover since it was crusted onto the surrounding area.
Pliers are optional.
Pull the cover off and set it aside.
Step 4:
Once the cover is off, the bulb will come out right into your hand.
Be careful not to touch the glass as it needs to stay perfectly clean in order to work properly.
Replace with a new bulb.
Step 5:
Put your cover back into place to protect the bulb from weathering. Then, put the plug back inside to reconnect your headlights.
Step 6:
When everything is finished it should look similar to this! Once you put the hood down, turn on your car and inspect the lights to make sure that they are functioning properly.
