Step-by-Step Process
Step 1:
Locate the Hood Latch in the car door.
Pop the hood.
Step 2:
Open the hood and secure the arm.
Not securing the lift arm could result in injury!
Step 3:
Locate the car battery and use the ratchet to loosen the negative (-) cable.
Step 4:
Next, use the ratchet to loosen and remove (+) the positive cable.
Step 5:
Loosen the bolt that secures the battery in place.
You can use either a 12 mm wrench, or in the example we used a ratchet extension with a 12mm socket
Step 6:
Gently remove the car battery.
Step 7:
Insert the new car battery.
Do not place the new battery on the ground. Place it on a piece of cardboard or plywood, but not dirt or asphalt.
